So, you got this invitation about a "Long-Distance Baby Shower"? What the heck is that? Well, you've come to the right place! Here we will answer the most common questions about how a long-distance or "virtual" baby shower works. Feel free to post any additional questions you may have in the comment box below.
Q. Why A Virtual Baby Shower?
A. Since many of the mother-to-be's friends and family are scattered all across the country, this is a way for everyone to show their support to Amy and Nick and their little bundle of joy.
Q. How does a Virtual Baby Shower work?
A. Amy has provided her registry information and list of wanted items. You pick a gift and either bring it in person to the Traditional (real-life) shower (if you're a local), or have it shipped to the hostess prior to the shower date. The hostess will be taking photos and videos during the shower. After the shower, a link will be posted or emailed to you with a video of Amy opening your gift! That way you can see her reaction as if you were there in person!! How cool is that?!
Q. Where should I send my gift?
A. You may send your gift to the following address:

If ordering from Target, you will have the option to send directly to Amy's address. We may not get a video of her opening the gift if it's sent to her house, but we'll at least get a photo, and it will be easier for Amy to not have to haul gifts back home. :)
Q. When should I send my gift?
A. The shower date is August 30th, but we would prefer to have all gifts received no later than August 29th to ensure we have enough time to prepare for the party.
Q. Should I send my gift wrapped?
A. Gifts can be either wrapped or unwrapped. Any unwrapped gifts will be wrapped by the hostess prior to the shower so Amy can have all the fun of tearing into pretty paper!
Q. I'm ordering my gift online and want to save on shipping. Can I have my gift sent to a local store and have it picked up there?
A. Absolutely!! Amy is registered at Target which offers a "Store Pickup" option. Please be sure to put the hostess' name (Valerie Kinkead) as an "Alternate pickup person" before you complete your online checkout. Then let Valerie know when its ready to be picked up. You will enter your card information online, and it will be charged by Target once your item is picked up. Please choose either the Layton, UT (preferred), Centerville, UT or Riverdale, UT Target location. If you are purchasing a gift from another vendor such as Wal-Mart or Toys-R-Us, please review their in-store pick-up policies before placing an order and provide Valerie with the necessary information.
Q. I can't make it to the shower. I'd love to send a gift, but won't I be missing out on all the fun since I won't be there in person?
A. We're sorry you won't be able to make it here in person, but don't worry, we'll try to make it fun for you anyway! You can participate in the shower games online and you will still receive a party favor if you send a gift. We will also post photos of the "live" shower and recipes for the refreshments, just in case you want to taste what it would have been like to be here in person. :-)
